About Us
What Existed Before
Our firm’s purpose is to provide high-quality legal services to solve complex legal problems for clients using a new framework for a law firm. Even before 2020 and the arrival of COVID to the U.S., the way legal services were provided was already undergoing a massive shift. From individuals to in-house legal departments of large companies, clients were severely cutting down on what they were willing to pay for legal advice and representation. Many law firms continue to respond to this market change by providing “discounts” on attorney rates in some form or another or attempting to “push down” work to lower rate associates. Many give lip service to “innovation.” However, the fact is that most law firms today still rely on many administrative employees and often inexperienced attorneys. This is a considerable cost burden passed on to the clients in the form of aggressive billable rate increases that most clients see year after year.
Because many of these law firms were built upon outdated ideals and bureaucratic structures, it is difficult, if not impossible, for these firms to adopt new practices, values, and procedures to deliver prompt, high-quality legal advice at a reduced cost.
A New Framework and Mindset
Our firm uses a mix of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and traditional, tested methods of organizing and managing, such as using Japanese Kanban boards. We rely heavily on software built with AI to manage clients’ cases and to address the administrative needs to operate the firm. But a blind reliance on technology—even disruptive technologies such as AI—is not enough to meet clients’ changing needs today, who expect high-quality representation at a realistic cost. Our firm contrasts with other firms that claim to be innovative but still operate under the outdated law firm paradigm.
